Since winning 5 prizes at the prestigious ARD Competition in 2006, Marianna Shirinyan has established herself as an international concert pianist and chamber musician, working with renowned
artists as Christian Altenburger, Ernst Kovacic, Thomas Brandis, Frans Helmersson, Ana Chumachenko, Ivry Gitlis, Ilya Gringolts, Ida Haendel, Midori. She has performed in radio
and television broadcasts (Bayerische and Norddeutsche Rundfunk, Danish radio, BBC, Tele Madrid etc ). Ms. Shirinyan performs regularly at international music festivals like MDR Sommer/
Schloss Wartburg, Schleswig Holstein Musik Festival, Schwetzinger Festspiele, Festspiele Mecklenburg Vorpommern, Bergen Festspillene, as well as several chamber music festivals
throughout Europe. She has performed with Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, Saarland Radio Symphony Orchestra, Armenian Philharmonic Orchestra, Danish National Symphony
Orchestra, Copenhagen Philharmonic, Gothenborg Symphony Orchestra, Philharmonie Südwestfalen, Würzburger Philharmoniker, Münchener Symphoniker, Armenian Chamber Players, Ostrobothnian
Chamber Orchestra, Neues Kammerorchester Bamberg, Münchner Kammerorchester,
I Pommerigi Musicali di Milano, several other orchestras in Scandinavia. Future engagements and re-invitations include concerts with Oslo Philharmonic, Danish National
Symphony Orchestra, Münchner Symphoniker a. o.
She has also received acclaim in many national and international competitions in Ettlingen/ Germany, Gaillard/ France, twice in Spain - 'Maria Canals' Barcelona, and 'C.I.P.C.E.'
in Madrid. In 2001 Marianna has received both the prize of Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival and "Possehl Music Award". In 2002 she won the 1st Prize of "The International Lion's
Competition", in 2004 "Premio Vittorio Gui" in Florence/ Italy, together with the Finnish violinist Laura Vikman.
The Danish Music Critics' Association has awarded Marianna Shirinyan their annual prize 2009.
In 2010 Ms. Shirinyan has received the P2 Artists Award of the Danish Radio. Her new CD with Kuhlau and Beethoven no. 1 piano concerti together with Copenhagen Philhamonic
comes out in in February 2012.
She has been a member of Esbjerg Ensemble in Denmark since 2003, and has a piano class at the Royal Danish Music Conservatory in Copenhagen.
Ms. Shirinyan's first CD recording with Chopin chamber music together with Andreas Brantelid, cello and Vilde Frang, violin on EMI has received great critical acclaim and the and
the Danish classical "Grammy" in 2010.
Marianna Shirinyan was born in Yerevan, Armenia. Beginning her studies at the age of six, she attended the Tchaikovsky music school in her home town under the guidance of
Margarita Hakobian. In 1995 she then went on to study at the Komitas Music Conservatory in Yerevan with Igor Javrian. Two years later to Hamburg with Mathias Weber. Ms. Shirinyan
completed her studies at the Musikhochschule Lübeck with Konrad Elser in 2007 with top grades.
